This was a real party, which made it extra special… Tristian’s party was really inspired by a Glitterville blimp and the images Marissa captured of carousels while on her trip to Paris. Marissa really wanted to create that feeling you get when you see a circus or carnival inspired party but this time, merry the two, after all they are both similar. So of course Marissa got to work finding images and creating a mood board and color palette that had a vintage feel but incorporated our bright signature style, and we believe that we did.
Every Midway has a tent so we had to start there. So we got a tent, a 20×20 foot tent would serve as the location of the table for the children, and the dessert table and popcorn stand. And of course what’s a @house.of.fete party without balloons, so we called on our amazing friend at @collectivecreativeco, Lindsi who created an organic garland that would begin outside and would carryover underneath the entire span of the tent. It was quite frankly a wonderful chandelier, a show stopper really. @apris floral adorned the tricycle bike with fresh florals that billowed out, I mean swoon for sure. They added baguettes, and umbrellas to complete the Parisian vintage vibe we were wanting. Lastly the tent also housed our wonderful popcorn stand by @thepopcornstand__ she had the most fresh popcorn and the toppings, let’s just say our kids where in popcorn heaven with all the candy and chocolate, yummy. We styled the stand with our repurposed drums we used in the past that Marissa painted. We placed the AMAZING cotton candy favors created especially for this party by @itsybitsyparty. They even had a pull out scroll on the cone that read:
We knew we wanted to make it different from what we have ever done before, playful yet approximate for the concept. We went back to the palette tables we have used in the past (we always like to reuse when we can) made by @dadsambusheedbyboys and we layered a variation of @ohhappydaypartyshop plates in stripe, solids and even some clouds plates a nod to the blimp that was the focal point hanging above the center of the table. We added a mixture of solid and pokadot cups also from @ohhappydaypartyshop that complemented the setting perfectly. We added a straw and stir sticks to each cup as well. The plates where flanked by custom pendent flag hand stitched by @threadmama_story that served as the little place cards and a fun keepsake for the kiddos to take home. We used a French soda that had little details added to it such as a velvet teal ribbon and of course a kissing booth ticket, so fun! We sprinkled the table with a confetti from @studiopep and layered felt ball garlands from @pearlandjane. Each setting had a Glitterville tent, a nod to the midway theme and the plates where topped with custom cotton candy hats by @augustroot she even had the great idea of using extra stuffing that Marissa had left over from their family Halloween Costumes. Tristians hate was a collaboration between @augustroot and @itzybitzy it really incorporated all the of major elements of the party! It is the epitome of whimsy.
Now for the AMAZING JAW DROPPING florals created by @apisfloral, I mean OBSESSED am I right? Jose and Efrain drove two hours just to bring them, I forgot to mention that before! Talk about above and beyond. The where a perfect mixture of whimsy and vintage all while incorporating the color pallet, they are seriously so talented. Their flowers provided a divided for yet another show stopper the Charcuterie table runner on the other side of the flowers. The runner was created by the dream team @figandhoneylavishgrazing out of Fresno. They used everything that was in season fresh citrus which is huge in the valley, locally sourced honeys, and jams and of course Brie Cakes, I mean they were speaking our language for sure. It definitely elevated the table to create this seamless transition of fun kid table scape and lavish; exactly what we were going for.
I mean can we talk about a carasouel macaron cake by @sorieemacs , I mean…. WOW! And the best part, its tasted so good. She also made special popcorn macs and traditional mac and meringues that are oh so good. We also sourced a @milk confetti cake and added meringues to the top and used @glitterville rainbow candles to adorn it. We purchased large suckers and organic cotton candy to style the simple but elegant dessert table. But wait the piece or resistance again was the large Mac from Glitterville and the DIY ferris wheel that was styled again with a @peralandjane felt ball lavender garland.
All the Game Stands and the Kissing Booth where made by Marissa’s husband @dadsambusheedbyboys. There was a ring toss, a balloon pop and a kissing both. Each one had a sign that was custom made by Lindsi again from @collectivecreativeco using Tristians own writing. A sweet detail that we could keep forever. And going on with the Parisian feel, every sign in was French. Seriously such a sweet and personal touch. The balloon pop stand had balloons from @shopstudiopep and a garland by @pearlandjane and the prized where the sweetest dolls from @cuddleandkind lucy kiddos. The Kissing booth again was adorned with pearl and jane garlands and shopstudiopep both from their valentine’s day collections. And a small felt letter board that read Bisous 25 Cents. BTW Tristians nickname for years was Bisou Bisou. The last stand was a ring toss that Marissa DIY using old wine bottle and soda bottle placed in a vintage Coca-Cola create that Kelsey and Marissa found at an antique shop. The prizes: GOLDFISH! Perfect!
No midway is complete without its fair share of attractions and this one wouldn’t be without. There was a Ferris wheel, ponies, and a petting zoo. We cannot tell you how much fun these kiddos had running to and from one attraction to another. They had an absolute ball! It’s not often when you have ponies and a Ferris wheel at a party, eek so fun.
In all our children had a wonderful time, Tristian gave Marissa a huge and said: Mommy my party is bueatiful, and its perfect….. que the tears.
Happy 6th Birthday Bisou Bisou you are so loved.
